The health of our Ocicats is very important to us, the Ocicat is a healthy and robust breed and we intend to keep it that way.
Tritrichomonas Foetus is a parasite that causes diarrhea, here at Zayenah we have decided to set ourselves apart from other Ocicat breeders in Australia so have tested our Ocicats to ensure they are negative for this, and other parasites.
Our Ocicats are also PRA clear and Pk-Def negative.
We are very proud to be able to state that Zayenah Ocicat Cattery is a Tritrichomonas & Giardia free establishment.
There are also 2 inherited conditions coming from Abyssinians and Siamese called Pyruvate Kinase Deficiency (PK-Def) (Anemia) and Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA) (blindness).
Our Ocicats have all been tested and are clear of PK-Def and PRA, so your kitten is guaranteed not to inherit these conditions.
While it costs a lot of money for testing, any good ethical breeder should be testing to ensure they are selling healthy, problem free kittens as pets.
